Melisa Castro was born in Colombia and raised in the United States, she fell in love with dance at an early age. She began her training in Miami where she danced hip-hop, heels, jazz funk and ballet. She graduated with an Associates in Dance as an honors student from Miami Dade College where she focused on the foundations of modern and ballet dance, following with a Bachelors in Arts from the Florida International University. Melissa has performed in numerous Award Shows such as Premios Juventud/Premio Lo Nuestro and has worked on many Television programs with Univision, Telemundo and Nickelodeon. She also had the opportunity to work under great artists such as Daddy Yankee, Marc Anthony, Becky G, Gente de Zona, Tito el Bambino and Farruko amongst others. Melissa was a part of the Farruko tour team back in 2015 and is currently a part of the Mau y Ricky Tour team. She has been teaching hip-hop, jazz funk and heels since 2014 in studios around Miami. She also participated in World of Dance Season 4 alongside judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo. She continues to strive for greatness and to be able to share her passion and talents with our younger generations in hopes to pass down her knowledge.
